The Tiny Tiger program at One Community Martial Arts in New Holland Pa was designed for kids 5-7 years of age. Exceptions can be made for children under the age of 5 based on the results of an age assessment. The Tiny Tiger program was developed to improve gross motor skills, balance, self-control, and work on the student’s ability to focus all while learning the fundamentals of Martial Arts. In addition to the Martial Arts curriculum One Community Martial Arts focuses on a character educational program. This program will take your child through different core values and provides them the basic understanding of the topic. The goal is that with the basic understanding of the topics the students can then have an open dialog with their parents. Please see our blog post on the goals of character education for more details. The Tiny Tiger class is structured around physical activity, directed instruction, and games. The Tiny Tiger class runs in two groups, the first group is Monday and Wednesday from 5pm-5:30pm and the second group runs Tuesday and Thursday from 5pm-5:30pm. Students will progress through the belt system until they age out or are ready to move to the kid’s class.
Parents often comment about the improvement seen at home and at school. They feel safer knowing that their child can identify and respond to situations with real self-defense skills. Our students don't stop once they age out of Tiny Tiger program, they advance to the Kids class and continue their journey to Black Belt. Seven of our current advanced belts had their start in the Tiny Tiger Program. This is an impressive feat and shows a dedication to the sport that makes us especially proud.
